On 26 January 2001 the entire Pettet family of Park Orchards (Bill, Cher, Rob and Sharni) were tragically killed in an horrific car accident on the South Gippsland Highway.
The family was an integral part of the community and were great contributors to it, especially to the Park Orchards Primary School.
To ensure that the family name continues in the community a trust has been established to provide assistance to families or children who are in a needy or crisis situation.
The Foundation’s charter is to provide crisis intervention for children and their families. We help disadvantaged children and in some instances the whole family who fall into some form of crisis or hardship, we are an immediate charity and we do not provide for long term assistance as such we primarily provide cash or payment support in the form of purchase vouchers, food vouchers, and other immediate funds assistance but we also arrange or provide counselling, budgeting and financial advice.
Quite often these situations arise from family breakdowns where a parent is suddenly left to fend for themselves and for their children. We can provide professional support from a registered psychologist, social workers, speech therapists and numerous others who donate their time freely to help these families who are in dire need of assistance. Unlike government bodies and larger charity bodies we are able to act at a moment’s notice.
The Pettet Family Foundation is a registered charity and all donations are tax deductible. 100% of all funds raised are used in direct aid. All administrative costs and services are provided free of charge by the trustees and by our many supporters.
The Foundation generally does not offer direct contact but works through Primary School Principals or Vice Principals and other support groups. If you have anyone that we could help please download the PFF Application Form below:
